A Wide Deck on a 26 Metre Hull
Gulet Susesi is 26 metres with an eight metre beam, five cabins for ten guests and a crew of four. Built in 2009 and refitted in 2019, luxury class, home port Fethiye. The number that stands out is the beam: eight metres on a 26 metre hull is unusually wide, and it gives her the deck space of a boat several metres longer.
What a Week on Board Feels Like
That wide deck is the whole character of the boat. The aft deck seats ten without anyone shuffling to let a plate past, and the sunbathing space forward is broad and flat rather than perched. On a small gulet, that difference is what separates a comfortable week from a cramped one.
Fethiye is the other advantage. The twelve islands sit in the bay itself, so the first anchorage is under an hour from the dock and the boat is swimming before the afternoon is over. Days go the simple way: engines after breakfast, a short hop, then the water until the heat drops. The crew of four cook, run the tender and sail her, and by the third day nobody is watching the clock.
Evenings are quiet on a boat this size. The two generators hold the air conditioning overnight, dinner runs late on that wide aft deck, and in a bay behind one of the islands the dark is complete.
Five Cabins for Ten Guests
Ten guests across five cabins, each with an en suite bathroom and its own air conditioning. The wide beam pays off below as well as on deck: the cabins are square rather than narrow. She suits a family taking the whole boat, or five couples who want a smaller, well kept gulet at a reasonable rate.
Where She Cruises
From Fethiye the natural week runs through the twelve islands, up to Gocek and its coves, and along toward Kalkan and Kas for more distance. The bays here sit close together, so a week covers a lot without long days under engine.
For a different stretch of coast, the Gulf of Gokova route is the other classic Turkish week. In the same class out of the same port, Gulet Mehmet Ayaz is a 24 metre for ten. A step up in size takes you to Babylon, a 37.6 metre luxury gulet working the Fethiye and Gocek waters. Our guide to a family gulet charter in Turkey covers what to plan for with children aboard.
