An Unusually Wide Beam for 32 Metres

Gulet Kocaoglan 1 measures 32 metres, but the number worth looking at is the 8.80 metre beam. That is wide for this length, and it changes the boat completely. The aft deck is broad enough that the dining table and the lounging area do not compete with each other, and the sunbeds forward sit flat rather than perched.

Built in 2012 and refitted in 2023, she takes twelve guests in six cabins with a crew of six. Twin 495 HP Doosan engines, 35 kW and 40 kW generators, and Marmaris as the home port.

What the Week Feels Like

Six crew for twelve guests is a high ratio for a gulet this size, and you feel it in small ways rather than grand ones. Wet towels disappear. The tender is already in the water when you decide you want it. Lunch appears without a discussion about lunch.

Mornings begin with the engines and end with them. An hour of motoring, then silence and a bay. The water in this part of the coast holds its clarity well into September, so the swimming stays good long after the crowds have gone home. Afternoons go slowly on purpose. Somebody reads, somebody sleeps, somebody keeps going back into the water.

By evening the boat has usually settled somewhere for the night. The two generators carry the air conditioning and the lights without strain, so dinner on the aft deck runs as late as anyone wants and the cabins are cold when you finally go down.

Six Cabins for Twelve Guests

Twelve guests across six cabins, each with an en suite bathroom and its own air conditioning. That wide beam pays off below decks as much as above: the cabins are square rather than wedge shaped, and the saloon has room for everyone at once when the weather turns. She works for two families sharing a week, or a group of six couples who each want a door that closes.

Where She Cruises

Marmaris sits between two very different coastlines. West and you are into Hisaronu and the Datca peninsula, thin on marinas and heavy on empty bays. East and you work toward Gocek, Fethiye and the twelve islands. The Greek Dodecanese is a day away if the clearance is arranged before you arrive.

The Gulf of Gokova route is the standard first week and still the one most guests remember. In the same class out of the same port, Gulet Baba Can is a 2022 built 35 metre alternative for the same twelve guests. Moving up a segment, Perla Del Mare is 42 metres of ultra luxury gulet, also based in Marmaris. The complete gulet fleet spans standard plus through ultra luxury. The official Türkiye tourism portal covers the region if you want the background before you choose a route.
